Frank is Executive Producer on the upcoming Showtime series “The United States of Tara,” written by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Diablo Cody and based on an original idea by Steven Spielberg. He is also Executive Producer on the upcoming reality program “Wedding Day,” which is a co-production with Mark Burnett Productions for TNT. In current series, Frank is an Executive Producer on “Las Vegas,” the NBC drama from DreamWorks Television now in its fifth season. He is also Executive Producer on the new ABC comedy “Carpoolers.” Frank served as Co-Executive Producer on the FOX reality program “On The Lot” from Executive Producer Steven Spielberg and on the ESPN’s boxing series “The Contender III” (both co-productions with Mark Burnett Productions). In the longform arena, Frank is Executive Producer on "Mayflower," the upcoming 6-hour limited series for ABC, which is based on the New York Times bestseller by Nathaniel Philbrick and will be written, directed and produced by Emmy-award winner David Leland. Under Frank (and co-president Justin Falvey), DreamWorks Television produces the critically acclaimed, Emmy-nominated FX drama “Rescue Me,” which will return to the air in 2008 for its fifth season.
Frank was named to his current post in January 2002. He had originally joined DreamWorks Television in 1995 as a development and programming executive. His first success was the popular ABC sitcom “Spin City,” which he developed with executive producers Gary David Goldberg, Bill Lawrence and Michael J. Fox. Frank went on to handle programming for the comedy series through its six seasons on the air, including the successful transition from departing star Michael J. Fox to new leading man Charlie Sheen. “Spin City” is currently in domestic and international syndication.
During his twelve-year tenure with the studio, Frank developed and served as a Co-Executive Producer on “Taken,” an epic 20-hour miniseries about alien abduction in America. Presented by Steven Spielberg and written and executive produced by Les Bohem for the SciFi Channel “Taken” received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Mini Series or Motion Picture Made for Television and won the 2002-2003 Emmy Award for Best Miniseries. Frank also developed and served as a Co-Executive Producer on “Into The West,” a six-part limited series for TNT that chronicled the westward expansion of America through the point of view of two fictionalized families, one white and the other Native American. “Into The West” won the Broadcast Film Critics Association award for Best Picture Made for Television, was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Mini Series or Motion Picture Made for Television and was the most Emmy-nominated program of 2006.
Prior to joining DreamWorks, Frank worked in Series Development at CBS Productions. He began his entertainment industry career as a motion picture production assistant, later becoming an assistant director on various feature and cable productions.
A member of the Directors Guild of America, Frank holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from American University in Washington, D.C. and is a co-founder of the 4sight4children Family Carnival, an annual charity event that gives children and infants the gift of sight by paying for all costs associated with crucial eye surgery.
