   Located in the historic Larkmead winery in Calistoga (the 3rd oldest winery in Napa), Frank Family Vineyards is owned by former Disney executive Rich Frank and Connie Frank. Our limited-production, fruit-forward, yet balanced wines have a loyal following that is due to the popularity of Winemaker Todd Graff’s “blockbuster” wines and our popular and convivial tasting room. Wine Advocate critic Robert Parker recently commented about Frank Family Vineyards noting, “Readers should be keeping an eye out for this first –growth quality… I was impressed with the offerings from this winery off Larkmead Lane in Calistoga.” 

  Several California champagnes are produced at Frank Family in the French methode champenoise style, and are available for tasting and purchase only in our tasting room. While the sparkling wines are a popular with our visitors, the Franks’ focus is on making superb still wines. Our Winston Hill Cabernet Sauvignon, Rutherford Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, and Rutherford Sangiovese are made from fruit grown on Rich Frank’s personal hillside estate in Rutherford and are only available through the tasting room.

  Thanks to a friendly staff led by Dennis Zablosky, Frank Family’s tasting room is one of the busiest and most successful in Napa. Dennis is always happy to pour tastes of small-production bottles or a pre-released wine for an old or new friend. Comments about Frank Family’s tasting room on sites such as Yelp.com include “bursting with entertainment and tasty wines”,  “our favorite”, “rockin” and “not pretentious”.

  Our tasting room is located in the original yellow Craftsman house on property. The tasting room is consistently recognized by top national publications, wine tasters and aficionados across the board as one of the best in the country. In May of 2008, Wine Enthusiast magazine included it as one of only six Napa wineries awarded a spot on their list of the country’s top 25 tasting rooms.

  Rich Frank knows just how to make visitors feel welcome. “With my background at Disney, I really learned how to create a friendly and unique guest experience, and I’ve been able to transfer those skills to Frank Family, as well as turn it into an educational experience for our visitors. We have something very special in our dynamic staff, our wine, and our history. Our tasting room is extremely down-to-earth. We want our guests to feel like they’ve discovered something very special and very real,” he says.

  Of the tasting room, the California Visitor Review wrote, “You can taste wine at hundreds of wineries throughout California, but you'll never have a better wine, or a better time, than at Frank Family Vineyards.” Always jovial and often brimming with laughter, guests that visit the tasting room often find the experience refreshing in that the only focus at Frank Family Vineyards is wine and fun. Just outside, visitors are welcome to sit under the giant elm trees, relax at the wooden picnic tables and enjoy spectacular vineyard views.

Directions

From Highway 29:
From St. Helena, head north on Highway 29. Go about 4 miles north of Deer Park Road. Make a right turn on Larkmead Lane and go about a mile to the winery.

From the Silverado Trail:
Heading north on the Silverado Trail, pass Deer Park Road and proceed north about 4 miles. Make a left turn onto Larkmead Lane. The winery is about a mile down the road on the left.
