Quick & Delicious Summer Strawberry and Bacon Salad

Strawberry season marks the start of summer in Frank Family’s Winston Hill garden. Inspired by summer’s sweet berries, Chef Christina Machamer is sharing her Strawberry and Bacon Salad – perfect for a light lunch or side dish at the dinner table on a warm summer day. The varying textures and contrasting flavors of strawberries, feta, greens, and bacon creates the perfect balance of sweet and slightly salty. Plus the freshness and citrus-like acidity of Frank Family’s 2021 Leslie Rosé makes for an ideal pairing – balancing the sweetness while enhancing the complexity of the dish.


4 CupsMixed organic greens
1 PintStrawberries
4-6, eachSlices crispy bacon, chopped
1/3 CupCrumbled feta, goat, or blue cheese
2 TablespoonsExtra virgin olive oil
2 TeaspoonsAged balsamic
To TasteSalt and fresh ground black pepper


  1.  Remove strawberry tops, and slice into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Add greens to a large mixing bowl. Season with salt and pepper, then toss with olive oil to coat the leaves. Add Balsamic, cheese, strawberries, and gently toss.
