Frank Family Vineyards and 4ocean Celebrate 70,000 Pounds of Ocean Plastic Removed

What started with a shared commitment to protecting our oceans became a two-year partnership that created meaningful change around the world.

Since July 2024, Frank Family Vineyards and 4ocean have worked together through our Frank for a Cause initiative to remove 70,000 pounds of trash and plastic from oceans, rivers, and coastlines worldwide. Thanks to the support of our wine club members, customers, retail partners, and trade community, every purchase of Frank Family wine helped advance 4ocean’s mission to end the ocean plastic crisis.

Over the course of the partnership, proceeds from Frank Family wines and exclusive Frank for a Cause packages helped fund the cleanup of 114 beaches, rivers, and coastlines worldwide while supporting the employment of 44 full-time boat captains and crew members dedicated to ongoing cleanup efforts. Together, we transformed every bottle into an opportunity to protect the waterways that sustain us all.

While our impact stretched across the globe, it was also deeply personal. Over the past two years, Frank Family and 4ocean hosted 11 community cleanup events in cities from coast to coast, including Napa and San Diego, California; Chicago, Illinois; Newport, Rhode Island; Cape Cod, Massachusetts; Seattle, Washington; Maui, Hawaii; Tampa and Boca Raton, Florida; and Galveston, Texas. Nearly 1,000 volunteers joined us in rolling up their sleeves, removing an additional 2,220 pounds of debris from local beaches, rivers, and waterways. These events became a powerful reminder that meaningful change begins with community.

“We were truly touched by the support we felt in every community we visited over the last two years,” said Rich Frank, Co-Founder of Frank Family Vineyards. “People showed up with such generosity, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to make a difference. That’s exactly why Leslie and I founded Frank for a Cause nearly 10 years ago—to create opportunities for people to come together around something bigger than themselves.”

For Leslie Frank, the partnership reinforced the power of collective action.

“This partnership has been very meaningful for Frank Family,” she said. “Seeing our broader community come together to take real, measurable action—whether on a beach in California or a riverfront across the country—has reinforced the importance of collective responsibility in protecting our environment. When everyone does their part, it’s incredible to see the difference we can make.”

The feeling was shared by our partners at 4ocean.

“It has been incredible to partner with Frank Family Vineyards to expand community-based cleanups across the U.S.,” said Alex Schulze, CEO of 4ocean. “These events bring people together around a shared commitment to ocean conservation, local impact, and keeping our waterways clean. We’re excited to continue building momentum and engaging communities in meaningful action for the ocean.”

Since launching Frank for a Cause in 2018, Frank Family Vineyards has partnered with organizations dedicated to strengthening communities both locally and nationwide. From medical research and hunger relief to environmental conservation and animal welfare, the initiative reflects our belief that wine has the power to bring people together in support of something greater.

As our partnership with 4ocean comes to a close, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who purchased a bottle, joined a cleanup, or supported our mission over the past two years. Together, we proved that even the simple act of sharing a bottle of wine can create a lasting ripple of positive change.

We look forward to announcing the next chapter of Frank for a Cause in the coming weeks as we continue supporting organizations making a meaningful impact in our communities and beyond.
