Start the Year Off Right with this New Year’s Day Brunch Cocktail

New Year’s Day is all about starting fresh. Our Napa Valley Sunrise cocktail is the perfect way to start the year off right with its combination of sweet, fresh squeezed orange juice and dry, crimson-hued Rouge sparkling wine. This easy yet stunning two-ingredient cocktail is the perfect way to keep festivities going at New Year’s Day brunch or to enjoy on Christmas morning.

The key is to use fresh orange juice with some pulp in it, which will help keep the color separation between the juice and the wine. Pour the sparkling wine over the back side of a spoon or large ice cubes to allow the wine to spread out and keep the two liquids separate, creating an impactful presentation.

For an even more festive touch, make Rouge filled ice cubes with cranberries, rosemary, orange slices, or whatever you fancy. Mold the cubes in fun shapes like Christmas trees, snowflakes, or ornaments.

INGREDIENTS

METHOD

  1. Pour the orange juice into a Champagne flute, and let the pulp rise to the top.
  2. Place a spoon, side down, into the flute and gently pour the Rouge over the spoon. Continue to pour slowly, allowing the effervescence to settle as you pour.
